More and merrier in 08
Hi all, just to wish you all a great NY celebration and an interesting, safe 2008. Apologies for the lack of updates over the last few weeks; look forward to more starting soon – plus some events of our own!
Kana and Yusuke
LovingPerth would like to welcome our new regular Japanese-language contributors Kana and Yusuke.
Kana has been in Perth for a year now and is married to a local. She works, studies and teaches, and we hope her experiences and advice can help other semi-permanent residents in similar positions. Her first contribution is on that all-important topic: beauty.
Yusuke has been here for about six months and is getting ready to head out for some fruit-pickin’ to extend his visa. He’s on a working holiday visa and his adventures have already led him to places that, again, we hope will be of assistance to others looking for work, looking for a place to stay, or generally trying to make sense of this little town. Following his recent success in the licensing exam, he starts with a guide to getting your Aussie driver’s licence.
You can access their blogs from the buttons on the right of the page – as always, the more YOU write in, the better advice you get back. Let us know if there’s something you’re interested in finding out about.
Get on the Forum
The LovingPerth Forum is now up and running and we encourage all our readers to sign up and join the discussions either in Japanese or in English. There’s already a number of active topics including a write-up on the Chilli Festival , a discussion on where to find the best Katsudon in Perth and an offer for free Goya (Okinawan bitter melon) seedlings. So, sign-up and have your say!
