Totally Huge New Music Festival

A couple of months ago we broke the news that Japanese cult doom band Boris would be playing at the Capitol on Thursday May 3 as part of the Totally Huge New Music Festival. The Festival itself starts April 20, so we thought we should let you know some more about it.

The 8th Totally Huge New Music Festival features artists from around the world presenting an extraordinary array of concerts, installations, screenings, workshops and master classes over seventeen aurally audacious days.

Not sure how much that tells you, but if you check out the programme you can see the incredible variety of performances. High on our priority list is the Australian percussion group Taikoz who will be giving a Japanese taiko performance, with shakuhachi accompaniment, at the Perth Concert Hall on Tuesday April 24:

Explore the outer limits of perception when ritual, dance and theatre combine to form a musical experience unlike any other.
